Getting Back to Blogging

Wow, it's been quite a while since I last wrote here. It's been 6 months! I can't believe it. I definitely need to get back to blogging. Hopefully, I'll have plenty of material. There's a lot going on in the world today, so I don't think I'll be lacking in things to write about. Let's just hope I don't bore everyone with my rambling. Anyway...here I go again.

When I Grow Up

Yesterday, I was reading a Dora the Explorer book to the triplets. It was about "what I will be when I grow up". One page had a teacher, Boots, and two students, a little girl and a little pig sitting in desks. The other page had Boots playing baseball. Boy 1 pointed to the baseball player and emphatically declared, "I'm going to be a baseball player!" Boy 2 pointed to the teacher and said, "I'm going to be that guy." Then Girl exclaimed, "I'm going to be a pig!"

The Difference Between Romance and Love

Romance is flying.
Love is safe landing.

Romance is seeking perfection.
Love is forgiving faults.

Romance is fleeting.
Love is long.

Romance is the anguish of waiting for the phone to ring to bring you words of endearment.

Romance is suspense, anticipation, surprise.
Love is dependability.

Romance is tingling excitement.
Love is tenderness, constancy, being cherished.

Romance is delicious.
Love nourishes.

Romance can't last.
Love can't help it.

This World Can Be So Cold

I have been following a blog for a few months now. She seems like such a sweet and loving wife and mother. I've enjoyed reading her thoughts and comments on daily life as a SAHM who pours her life into her family. Well, I was absolutely shocked to read this post today. At first, I thought she was writing a story about someone else. It had to be because she has such a great life, husband, and kids. She is striving so hard to be the wife and mother that God desires her to be. It breaks my heart. What I wouldn't do to be able to say something to comfort her, but I can't. What can anyone say? What can anyone do? Those kids... she just found out she is pregnant with number three. I hurt for her. I hurt for them. Only Christ can heal their pain. Only Christ can restore them.
